Superman Theme Song, circa 1966
The “Batman” craze of 1966 led to a brief boost in popularity for all superhero comics, and an attendant surge of superhero merchandising.
One fun relic of this era is this curious song devoted to Superman. I’ve seen it billed as the opening track to the “Official Adventures of Superman” album I reviewed here, but it’s not on my copy, so I can’t confirm it. Maybe there was more than one version of the album?
Wherever it comes from, it’s a hoot, and well worth a listen. Just don’t blame me if after hearing it you can’t get it out of your head for a couple of days. (Note: Depending on your browser, you may have to click the “play” button more than once to get the file going).
